Located in Kidepo in the dry savannah in a semi-arid region. It was established using grass thatch and wood. Apoka Safari Lodge is the only luxurious lodge within Kidepo Valley National Park. Located on a picturesque kopje overlooking the Narus River valley, Apoka is the place to be if you are looking towards game viewing in Kidepo. The Park itself is located in far northeastern Uganda, bordering Sudan to the North, the Napore Mountains to the West, and the Morungole Mountains to the South.
Apoka Lodge is relaxed and a very remote location of the park which provides a quiet, private and fulfilling experience. The rooms at Apoka Lodge have been built with comfort in mind. Everything is handmade by local craftsmen, everything is large and capacious. There are 10 expansive rooms with natural canvas walls surround a rocky kopje with endless views across the savannah.
With inside sitting rooms and private verandas there are plenty of places to relax, read and sprawl. Big hand-hewn beds with soft duvets are draped with mosquito nets, hand-woven woolen carpets, extra large plush towels, over-sized dressing gowns…you may be as far away from the city as you’ll ever be, but you won’t miss a thing.
Accommodation
The lodge has got 10 accommodation domed cottages with private verandah and an outdoor bathtub. The cottages are set in a circular format, facing each other to allow interaction between the guests
